Food Packs for the Starved
For families across Afghanistan, hunger is not a distant threat. It is a daily reality.
Years of conflict, economic collapse, and drought have left millions struggling to afford even the most basic meals. Parents regularly go without food so their children can eat. Many families survive on bread alone, unsure where their next meal will come from.
Food packs provide immediate relief, restoring strength, dignity, and hope to families facing severe hunger.
The hunger crisis in Afghanistan
Hunger in Afghanistan is widespread and severe, placing millions of lives at risk.
Today, that test is a daily reality for Afghan families.
Without support, families are forced into desperate and unsafe situations simply to survive.
Allah سبحانه وتعالى warns us of the trial of hunger:
“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger…” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155)
What your food pack provides
Food packs are sourced locally to protect dignity and support Afghan markets. Each parcel typically includes:
In the last reporting year, 585 families received food support through Aryana Aid’s food distribution programmes, helping parents feed their children during periods of extreme hardship.
Real lives supported
During food distributions, families consistently report the same relief, the ability to eat regular meals again.
In the Annual Report, Aryana Aid documents how food packs enabled families to survive periods of crisis without resorting to dangerous coping strategies. Parents were able to prioritise their children’s health, keep them in school, and regain a sense of stability during times of severe food insecurity.
Food aid does more than fill stomachs. It stabilises families when everything else is uncertain.
Serving orphans and widows
Hunger affects everyone, but orphans and widows face the greatest risk. Without a breadwinner, many households have no reliable income at all.
Across Aryana Aid’s wider programmes:
Your support ensures those with the least protection are not left behind during food crises.
Giving guided by faith
Feeding the hungry is not only a humanitarian act, it is a clear command rooted in our faith.
Allah سبحانه وتعالى reminds us:
“And they give food, out of love for Him, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive, saying, ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.’” (Qur’an 76:8–9)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said:
“He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbour to his side goes hungry.” (Hadith)
Your Zakat, Sadaqah, and Lillah transform these teachings into action, protecting families from hunger and preserving their dignity.
Transparency and trust
Aryana Aid is committed to transparent, accountable giving. Our Annual Report documents how food aid and other humanitarian programmes reached thousands of vulnerable families.
Alongside food distributions:
These figures reflect a wider humanitarian response built on trust and responsibility.
