Get your family, friends and colleagues to bake goodies for you to sell at your school or office. Hand out copies of our general leaflet so that everyone is aware of our charity's 100% donation policy, and who to contact for further information.
Write a short letter to everyone that you know about your reasons for supporting our work. Explain what you are doing to raise money, and ask for a small donation to put towards your goal. Be sure to thank everyone that responds.
Sell tickets to a movie screening at your home or office. Ask friends who are attending to bring lots of snacks so that everyone has a good evening.
For on the spot donations, carry a donation bucket around your school or office with a recent press cutting about Afghanistan. Explain what we are doing to help the poorest people in the region, and how they can help with a small contribution.
Ask your school or company to match the funds you raise with a contributory donation. Some may already have a gift matching scheme, others may be inspired to start one - especially if you can get your local paper involved!
Organise a sports event for your family, friends and work colleagues. Charge a few pounds for the entry fee, and a hold closing ceremony to congratulate the winning teams.
